The display ranges from -99 to 999. Each digit also contains a decimal point, enabling display from .001 to 10.1. Board logic is implemented with the MAX6956 I2C based LED driver. The constant current mode logic ensures uniform brightness. LED brightness can be varied from 1.5mA to 24mA per segment (16 step resolution). Both 3.3V and 5V supplies are supported. The board may be either be top mounted on an available SPIP header (peripherals may be stacked below the LED board) or remotely mounted with the PIEP remote mount kit. The default I2C address may be changed by removing one or both address select jumpers on the peripheral board (operation with both jumpers installed is also permissible).
