Highly versatile peripheral with many uses.
When used in pairs and with a remote mount cable, the board pair forms a remote mount kit for PIEP peripheral boards. When paired with the PIEP shield adapter, it provides a convenient method to interconnect the shield adapter signal lines with the PIEP motherboard. The PIEP is also a great tool to use with commercial debuggers (such as the Total Phase protocol analyzers). Installing the breakout board between a PIEP adapter and motherboard SPIP header allows direct monitoring of peripheral control and communications lines. A recommended accessory for the breakout board is the JST compatible crimper (available through Amazon, SparkFun, and many other distributors).
The breakout peripheral is compatible with all SPIP headers and voltages. All signals are passed through to the top header as well as routed to the JST 2mm (10-position) connector. When used as remote mount board, unused pin headers should be covered with supplied pin guard. Note all ten-position headers on the PIEP system use ground by default. Assume pin 9 is ground on both JST connector and SPIP, unless noted otherwise on connected peripheral.
