CAN Bus Driver
Good for high speed, reliable communications.
Most CAN devices, including PIEP processors supporting CAN operation, support selective address filtering with broadcast capabilities. The PIEP CAN Transceiver Board implements the transceiver hardware required by most CAN compliant embedded processors. The board operates from a single 3.3V supply and is based on the MAX3051 integrated circuit. A terminating resistor is implemented on the peripheral and is enabled by jumpering pins 3 and 4 of the JST interface connector. Remote shutdown of the transceiver is implemented by default but may be disabled by removing the on-board jumper, thus freeing the associated SPIP resource for other stacked peripherals. Refer to the MAX3051 data-sheet for more details.Note: The PIEP CAN board is only a hardware transceiver. Processors not supporting CAN communications are not compatible with this peripheral.
